Anyways... Anime Weekend Atlanta!

... was kind of fail... I spent all of the day before AWA struggling to get my May cosplay from Guilty Gear done... I did finish the outfit, but parts of it were very ghetto... AND... I didn't finish the anchor, which is ultimate FAIL. But! I plan on spending time to get it completed and nice in time for MegaCon 2010.

We arrived kind of late on Friday, so we ended up not cosplaying. But it was nice to get there and relax. Saturday was Guilty Gear - and our group was pretty sexy. We entered the costume contest - our first time ever! Needless to say, we didn't win anything, but it was fun just trying. But it took forever for us to get through judging because our outfits would keep breaking and then we'd have to wait for someone to go to a hotel room to get it fixed...

Sunday me and ~dualtsumi were once again Rin & Len from Vocaloid. We also had a mini-Vocaloid meet with a Kaito, Miku, Akaito.

I had a lot of fun @ AWA just going about my business - nothing too intense this year. Got to say hello to all the Georgians I know and only get to see twice a year at best.

On a some-what spur of the moment - I took a trip home to South Florida to run a few errands - and now I will be going to Animation SuperCon this weekend and will be in Artist Alley. I'll be cosplaying of course - I do believe I'm planning Echizen Ryoma from Prince of Tennis tomorrow (Friday), and Kagamine Rin (Vocaloid) & Anya Alstreim (Code Geass) on Saturday / Sunday (not sure the order)... so if you somehow read this and are going, stop by and say hello.

Anime Weekend Atlanta

Well, I suppose me and the gang are starting to realize AWA is coming up soon and slowly getting our gears cranking. I myself have just started working on my outfit for our group this year. Our plans are... Guilty Gear! That's right! I will be cosplaying May - the anchor-wielding pirate. Our other group members are at least a Millia, Jam, Baiken, Bridget, and maybe a Faust, I-no, and Robo Ky.

So, at this time that's the only costume planned for AWA, the other 2 will be decided some time later, but they shouldn't be anything new... I'm suspecting from myself either Anya, Haseo, or Kagamine Rin.

Pre-emptive EXP con and MetroCon was a lot of fun! MetroCon was busy - performed in the Fairy Tale Theatre from AnimeBelle!
Attended ~WingedInfinity's surprise birthday party. That was a lot of fun.
Did not get to attend YasumiCon. V___V
Moved into a sweet new apartment with ~dualtsumi Still slowly getting everything unpacked.

Got a lot to write about! Fanime was a BLAST. Like, blasts every other con I've been to out of the water! (And I've been to a LOT).

I dub this con... the CON OF MIDRIFF AND RED MARKER. Or alternatively... THE NEVERENDING PHOTOSHOOT ... or extra-alternatively... HOW TO KILL YOUR TOES IN 4 DAYS.

I'm just going to get it out of the way right now.

FANIME THURSDAY

Didn't sleep a wink before heading out to the airport at 7:30 AM! Left at 9:40 from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and after a very long 2 flights, made it into San Jose Airport where ~angelpeipei was waiting for me. Called ~dualtsumi and his parents pulled up and picked us up.

After that, went to check in at the Marriot and then afterwards went to eat. It was... some Filipino fried chicked place that was super super delicious. Super crispy chicken skin. OH. And met the boyfriend's parents / relatives for the first time... I was sooo scared, but they were very nice people. I hope I made an alright impression. DX

Anyways, Thursday was spent doing tourist-y things. But it was SO COLD. HOLY MOLY CALI IS COLD. X____X We took a stop at Japan town, even though most things were closed. Bought a very cute hedgehog bento box with a pair of chopsticks for cheap. =w= We tried making it to the Golden Gate bridge... but it was so cold and foggy that we didn't actually see anything... took a trip to... a downtown area with very tall buildings. Ehe. Went to an actual Macy's department store... the kind that have like, floors of clothing! That was about it for Thursday. Exhausted and jet-lagged, went to sleep.

Fanime Friday!

And so it starts. Let me tell you... I wasn't expecting the attention we got for our Vocaloid cosplay! I did Kagamine Rin with ~dualtsumi doing Kagamine Len. (Which came out amazing, he did a great job making it! ) At this point, I'm scouring the internet for photos of us, and a good 65% of the photos are our Vocaloid. Ehe. ~angelpeipei went as Ashford CC from Code Geass, and Yan's sister joined us as Kagane Rui.

First thing we did was go to Artist's Alley to say hello to =Akusesu and =hakuku who both looked absolutely FABULOUS every day. Both cosplay and art were so nice in real life. =w= *fangirl over both*

We made a little run through both AA and Dealer's... but most of Friday was spent... getting photos taken of. It was... honestly... a huge culture shock. We've been telling all the photographers we've met this trip that here in Florida... there are NO photographers. The only con photog I vaguely know of is Maboroshi... So to go to a con to see almost as many photographers as cosplayers... to us it was very exciting. We don't have any good photos of our own cosplay, so I'm very excited to see all the photos and shoots soon!

Just near the end of the day for us, we ended up meeting Tony Quan, ~qcamera and the whole gang of Creepy Photographers... we were at the Friday meet-up for Vocaloid (which I wish we had gone to Saturday too... it was way bigger then). When these suspicious guys beckons me and ~dualtsumi over, promising candy and a ride in his white van. JUST KIDDING. It was our first meeting with Creepy Photographer group. ((which to right now... there are too many to remember all their names. Ah ha ha... uhh... Tony... Andy... Bobby... Mike...? ... >___< )) Me and ~dualtsumi ended up having a really fun Vocaloid photo shoot! But then it got really cold... wearing next to nothing and having my stomach exposed to the world.

After we ended up finally parting, went to a noodle house with ~angelpeipei, ~dualtsumi, and ~SilentCannonball. But gah... so hungry and tired. Pretty much after that, just went to the room and passed out until next morning. Pei and Yan ended up touring the con though.

Friday was super fun but sooo tiring. Even got to dance with leeks in the AA in front of a camera. Ehe.

Fanime Saturday!

Woke up and my entire body was like... immobile. =w= But, forced myself up and into cosplay. Saturday I was in Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed, ~dualtsumi was my Kira Yamato for half the day, and ~angelpeipei was an adorable Chii from Chobits, with Alex being a super cute Sakura Kinomoto from Cardcaptor Sakura.

Ran out the door with Yan to make it to the Gundam Universe meet. It was surprisingly small but definately run by Gundam 00 cosplay. Here we met photog Jason and had a small shoot with him and leaving behind the meet. Went to the dealer's room for a little bit and there I bought a Hatsune Miku nendoroid. That makes my collection up to 4! ^_^ BUT... she's missing her right headphone... T_____T I can't believe it. WAH.

Had a small shoot with various other Creepy Photographers at 2 different times on Sat... by this time I had to start scheduling myself out for photoshoots... =w=;

But then at 4 I was supposed to meet up with ~CanadianStrawberry and her friend Michelle as Kira and Athrun to do a photoshoot with her friend, =PhotoPanda. We had been talking about cosplaying Seed together for a long long time... since last Fanime! Ha ha. Meet up after a long time of both of us being super busy... around 5:30 I suppose and walked the AA while waiting for Panda. However, just before we were heading out to shoot Canada and Michelle got called to dinner with their friends, so we postponed the shoot until Sunday evening.

Afterwards, dragged my tired and numb feet back to the room... didn't get to make it to the masquerade that =Bubydub and ~Vielara's group was performing in. I'll have to watch it on YouTube. >_< Was way exhausted. At least ~angelpeipei got to see it.

Fanime Sunday!

Sunday I went as Anya Earlstreim from Code Geass R2, Knights of Round version. ~dualtsumi went as Knights of Round Suzaku, ~angelpeipei as white straight-jacket R1 CC, and Alex as Govenor Nunnally. Went down to the fountains and did Code Geass vs Cosplayer Chess! It was a lot of fun, I got to be the bishop. > = D In the end though, I only got to kill one person with my moe attack, ehe. A nice Vampire Knight cosplayer. BUT! Next turn I was killed by a Sexy no Jutsu Naruto who ended up killing a lot. Ehe. Oh well. At least ~dualtsumi got to Spinzaku a person before he was killed. >w< Afterwards, went to the Code Geass meet that was also really fun.

Had a few photoshoot again... that was really fun. Because we had our capes on we kept trying to get photos with the cape waving in the wind... I wonder if it was successful? Anya was a lot of fun to wear... I'm totally in love with that wig, esp. since Yan cut the bangs for me that looked extremely good. <3

So busy that day though, with all the meets and shoots... ran back to the room to change back in Lacus Clyne and meet up with ~CanadianStrawberry, =PhotoPanda, and Michelle to have our Gundam Seed shoot. There was a lot of cool shots! Although this was my first time wearing a long wig... it felt like there was hair all over my face all the time because of all the wind. Sooo cold too. Ehe. It was sooo nice to get to hang with Canada and to also meet Michelle and Panda. :3

But, ran back to the room and changed for the B&W Ball ... me and Yan went as a formal Rin and Len, Pei went as a formal CC, and Alex went as Sakura again with Princess going as a formal Kairi. Everyone looked so cute and pretty in their formal wear! Getting to the Fairmont was cold though. >___< We danced a little... but the music was so bad... it was a lot of actual 'dance' music... tangos and such... that I was a little lost as to how to actually dance them without actually knowing the dances.

Ran back to the Marriot afterwards to take quick showers and then back to the Fairmont. We had met a friend of =Akusesu's who was absolutely crazy. Ehe, in a good way. Bert is this guy who cooks absolutely godly food. We met him on Friday when he had a huge tub of beef pho and offered some to me. (It was absolutely delicious btw.) The icing of this meeting though, was when he pulled out a warm chocolate souffle on an oven mit from out of nowhere. Seems that he had a room where he cooked every day. ANYWAYS, we had been invited to his place to have some Korean BBQ after the ball. Arrived kind of late and had just a little bit of the remaining galbi (OMG IT WAS ORGASMIC). But they soon ran out... so he goes to his cooler and pulls out this HUGE FILET OF SALMON and pulls out his cast-iron skilled and cooks the most delicious salmon ever. D: Afterwards we ended up staying quite late just chatting with Bert, Nergene, Chris, and others about cons and such. It was really a fun evening. ^_^

Fanime Monday!

Monday was sooo depressing. Most people had gone and checked out of their hotels... Cosplay for Monday was super intense... I went as Haseo from .hack//GU with ~angelpeipei as my Shino and ~dualtsumi as Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter. Had a few small shoots and then quickly did our last rounds through the Dealer's Room.

FINALLY got to hang with =Bubydub ~Vielara and Alan... got to see =Bubydub Sunday as Lily Saber (so pretty!). It was sooo good to finally get to hang after forever talking online. Looking cool as Xingke. =w= Ehe. But not for terribly long, as they left around 3. Went to eat at Johnny Rocket's, and then also said goodbye to =Akusesu and =hakuku as Artist Alley closed... *sigh*

Monday was so depressing. XD The convention center was so empty! D:

Evening time came and we went back with Yan's family to a mall and went to Dave & Buster's... Alex is really good at winning tickets and such. =w= Also went to go eat at this amazinggggg hot pot place. * w * Gosh it was soooo good. *drool*

Tuesday, checked out at 8 am and grabbed my flight back to Florida.

Now I am suffering big time con withdrawal... even though MetroCon is in 3 weeks. Hee.

I MISS FANIME. WOAH.

All in all, thanks to everyone I meet, everyone I got to see again, all the photographers I met (there was a LOT), and to everyone there! You all made Fanime a very memorable con for me! I hope to see all of you (and hopefully some MORE of you *cough**behindinfinity *merkymerx ~snowpeachdrop ~moonlightflight *cough* ) NEXT YEAR!

Soooo... in the next coming week or so, be expecting a flood of Fanime photos coming to ~gya-inc, our group cosplay DA!

Like our cosplay outfits you see on our cosplay DA, ~gya-inc? Most of those amazing costumes are from our lovely tailor, who does amazing work for a really cheap price ($30-$80 per outfit). We are now offering group orders from him as it will make shipping cheaper for all of us.

We will place the order to him when we gather 8 or more outfits ( doesn't have to be the same ones ^^) and have them all shipped to us here in Gainesville, FL and then distribute them. Pre-emptive Strike : EXP Con

Went to a one day con in St. Augustine a few Saturday's ago - it's a one day thing hosted by EXP Con. Really went to just try-out for the Fairy Tale theatre from AnimeBelle for MetroCon. The con itself was super super small (the size of a hallway, lol). At first I was really scared that it was going to be a huge bore - worse than MizuCon... But not too long after we arrived, ~WingedInfinity, Miki, showed up. Miki, you looked super gorgeous is your dress!

The try-out wasn't terrible - fill out some paperwork and then show them my (lack of) acting prowess. =w=;;

Afterwards we just ended up hanging out the rest of the time. It was me, Pei (~angelpeipei), Yan (~dualtsumi), and Miki (~WingedInfinity). Went out to grab some food and ended up driving all around until we ended up at Dick's Wings - which had the most amazing assortment of wing sauces. XD Super delicious.

There was a fashion show going on at the convention center. Got some really interesting looks from all those posh fashionistas. XD Had to convince my roommate not to adopt a cat... ha ha. Ended up changing in Hitsugaya Toushirou in the evening, with Yan wearing Aizen Sousuke (Shinigami). Got our pictures taken by ~vicorp, can't wait to see them.
Met with con chair Rayne - he's a really funny guy. XD Ended up playing Anime Jeopardy - which was really fun, but Rayne was sooo fast at naming things, esp. when it deals with shoujo, ha ha. But the focus on American anime made it kind of hard since I mainly focus on Japan. The American VA section totally had me lost. XD

Also watched a lot of FFXIII trailers and demos... omg that game is going to rock! I'm so glad I already have a PS3. =w=

Ended up leaving around 11 to head back home down these really scary dark back-roads. x w x

I'm also going to try and enter the Bleach Chess Match and the Code Geass Chess Match. Me and Yan will also be going to the B&W Ball as a formal Rin and Len.
